What is a ceilidh?
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a social form of traditional dancing for all ages and abilities. There is a caller who talks the dances through before everyone dances to the band, so no previous experience is required.
How long are your ceilidhs?
It very much depends on the type of event (so if you want to hire us for a private event we can be completely flexible to suit you), but our public ceilidhs tend to be about 3 hours long with each half being about 1 hr 15 mins and a half hour interval in the middle.
What type of music do you play?
Traditional tunes form the heart of our music but our arrangements are very much based around our collective love of rock and metal, so we’re definitely on the heavier end of the spectrum! Please have a listen to us here to make sure we’re right for your event!
Note: we have a full drum kit and electric guitars so we are louder than your average ceilidh band, please bear this in mind if the venue you want to hire has a noise limiter or any other noise restrictions!
Do you have your own equipment, insurance etc.?
We have our own PA and mixing desk and all our equipment is PAT tested and insured. We also have public liability insurance.
Do you provide a caller?
We have a number of great callers we work with regularly, but if you have a particular caller in mind then please let us know when you contact us.
How much do you charge?
It depends on so many factors – what type of event it is, how long you want us to play for, how far away the event is, what time of day you want us to play etc. so please contact us to discuss your requirements!
